Demos are free to play on Steam for the length of the event, and you can wishlist games you like.
Steam describes the festival as a chance to try demos, chat with developers, watch live streams and learn about upcoming games. To take part, a game needs a public store page and a public demo when the festival starts. The demo cannot be the prologue or first chapter of content already on sale, the game must release after October 26, 2026, and each title can join only one Next Fest. Steam also lists editions for February and June 2027.
