This policy covers every browser extension published by The Tech Basket: Where is My Website, Show IP, Shop with Family, Open Bulk URL, Strong Password Generator, Highlight Ads and Domain Bookmarks. None of them have an account or sign-up, and we do not run a server that receives your browsing data. We do not sell, share or rent any data.
What we do not collect
None of our extensions ask for your name, email address, phone number or location. None of them send us your browsing history, the pages you read, your search queries, your bookmarks, your notes, your URL lists or the passwords you generate. The only extension that handles payment is Domain Bookmarks, and only if you buy Pro (see below).
Data that stays in your browser
- Where is My Website: your sites, competitor domains and settings (Chrome sync storage); rank history, optional and off by default (IndexedDB on this computer).
- Show IP: the IP address of each site you open, read from Chrome’s own connection data (session storage, cleared when you close the browser); overlay on or off and overlay side (Chrome local storage).
- Shop with Family: prices hidden or shown (Chrome local storage).
- Open Bulk URL: saved URL lists and their names (Chrome sync storage); tabs or window choice and delay (Chrome local storage).
- Strong Password Generator: settings such as type, length, characters and word list (Chrome sync storage); password history, optional and off by default: the last 10 passwords you copied (Chrome sync storage).
- Highlight Ads: the “hide organic results” setting (Chrome local storage); ads found on the search page (title, link, description, keyword) stay in the popup and are saved only when you export a CSV file to your computer.
- Domain Bookmarks: bookmarks (Chrome’s own bookmarks); sticky notes, labels, reminders, deleted items, language and Pro license key (Chrome local storage).
Chrome sync storage is synced to your own Google account if Chrome sync is on, under the Google privacy policy. It never reaches us. If you turn on password history in Strong Password Generator, those passwords are synced the same way. Leave it off if you do not want that.
Where is My Website keeps rank history for 30 to 365 days (your choice, default 90). You can export it to CSV or delete it at any time from its dashboard.
Strong Password Generator creates passwords inside the extension popup. Generated passwords are never sent over the network.
What the extensions send over the network
Anonymous usage events. Each extension sends a small number of events so we can see which features people use:
- Where is My Website (Google Analytics 4): installed or updated, with the version; a setting changed; matches found on a results page (search engine name and how many own and competitor results matched); rank history exported (number of records) or cleared. Each event carries a random ID created on install, your browser language, locale and time zone. Google Analytics also receives your IP address, as with any web request.
- Show IP (Aptabase): installed, popup opened, overlay turned on or off, overlay moved left or right.
- Shop with Family (Aptabase): installed, prices hidden or shown, and the name of the shopping site you open from its list of supported stores (for example amazon.in). Only the site name is sent, never the page address or the product.
- Open Bulk URL (Aptabase): popup opened.
- Strong Password Generator (Aptabase): installed.
- Highlight Ads (Aptabase): installed, “hide organic results” turned on or off, ads exported.
- Domain Bookmarks (Aptabase): popup opened (with your bookmark count), bookmark added, edited, removed or copied, folder opened, options page opened (with bookmark and folder counts), theme changed, Buy Pro clicked, a Pro-only feature tried without Pro, and the error message if the popup fails to load.
Aptabase receives the event name, the values listed above, the extension version and your browser language. It uses your IP address and browser user agent only in memory to make a daily pseudonymous ID, and does not store them.
Requests you start.
- Open Bulk URL, HTTP status checker on openbulkurl.com: when you check URLs on that page, the extension requests those URLs from your browser and returns the status code, redirect and headers to the page. Requests go only to the URLs you enter, and only when you start a check.
- Domain Bookmarks, broken link check: when you start a link check, the extension sends a short request (HEAD) to each of your bookmarked URLs to see if it still loads. A “revisit” reminder does the same for that one URL when you check it. Requests go straight from your browser to those sites, not through us.
- Domain Bookmarks Pro: see Domain Bookmarks Pro.
Show IP makes no lookups. It reads the IP address Chrome already used to load the page. No request goes to an IP lookup service.
Domain Bookmarks Pro
Pro is optional. If you buy it, the checkout page on checkout.dodopayments.com is run by Dodo Payments, which collects your name, email address and payment details to process the payment and send your license key. We never see your card details, and the extension never sees your email address.
When you activate your key, the extension sends the key and a device label (the word “Chrome” and your platform name, for example “Win32”) to Dodo Payments to register the device. It later sends the key and the device ID to Dodo Payments to check that the license is still valid, and to release the device when you deactivate. If you are offline, the last valid check is honored for up to 7 days.
Third-party services
- Google Analytics 4 (Where is My Website): usage events as listed above, under the Google privacy policy.
- Aptabase (all other extensions): usage events as listed above, under the Aptabase privacy policy.
- Dodo Payments (Domain Bookmarks Pro only): payment and license checks, under the Dodo Payments privacy policy.
- Tally (Show IP and Highlight Ads): the Feedback link opens a form on tally.so. Nothing is sent unless you fill it in. What you submit is handled under the Tally privacy policy.
- Google Chrome sync: stores Chrome sync storage in your Google account if sync is on, under the Google privacy policy.

You can remove an extension at any time from chrome://extensions. The related feature stops working.
Retention and your choices
Removing an extension deletes its data in this browser. Data in Chrome sync storage is managed by your Google account: you can clear it at any time in Chrome’s sync settings. Analytics data held by Google or Aptabase follows their retention settings. Dodo Payments keeps purchase records under its own policy and the law. Because we cannot identify you from usage events, we hold no personal data to export or delete. For a Domain Bookmarks Pro purchase, email us with your order details and we will help.
Children’s privacy
Our extensions are for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Security
Network requests use HTTPS, except broken link and status checks to an http:// address you added yourself.
Changes to this policy
When an extension changes what it collects, we update this page and the date above.
