Does the GTA 6 physical edition include a disc?
No. The physical Standard Edition is a code in a box. You redeem the code on the PlayStation Store or the Microsoft Store and download the full game from there. Rockstar's editions page describes it as a physical version that still requires a digital download, and IGN's June 24, 2026 report says plainly that physical copies "will contain a code that can be redeemed for the digital download."
That means the disc drive in your console does nothing for this game. Every copy, boxed or not, installs the same large download from the internet.

The Vintage Vice City Pack is the pre-order bonus, and it comes with both editions. TheSixthAxis reported its contents on June 24, 2026: a 55 Vapid Stanier plus the Shore Court garage near Ocean Beach, a linen suit and decade hair for Jason, a red sequin mini dress and curls for Lucia, and a Tommy Vercetti palm-tree weapon pattern. On physical, that bonus is "only guaranteed while supplies last," per IGN.
Is there a physical Ultimate Edition?
No. Rockstar's support page is direct: "Physical version of the Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition is not available." The $99.99 Ultimate Edition is a digital-only product, so if you want the extra vehicles, weapons, and apparel, you buy it on the PlayStation Store or the Microsoft Store. When does the physical edition go on sale?
Rockstar says the physical version "will be available starting November 12 to support pre-loading." That is the same day digital pre-load begins, and it is a week before the November 19, 2026 unlock. Buying the box early does not let you play early. It only puts the code in your hands in time to download the game so it is ready at launch.

One difference is easy to miss. Digital pre-orders add one month of GTA+, while a boxed code does not, per NeonPulseHQ, August 9, 2026. If you want that bonus, buy digital. The free GTA+ month auto-renews, so cancel the renewal before it ends, and redeem the offer by March 31, 2027, per GameRant, June 24, 2026.

Will GTA 6 get a disc version later?
