GTA 6 Cheats: Does GTA 6 Have Cheat Codes?

We don't know yet. As of November 4, 2026, Rockstar has not said whether GTA 6 has cheat codes. No Newswire post, no page on the official Grand Theft Auto VI site, and no line in the June 24, 2026 pre-order press release mentions cheats, so every "GTA 6 cheat code" list online right now is a guess or made up.

Cheats are a long Grand Theft Auto tradition, and GTA 5 still supports them, so there is a fair chance they come back. Nobody outside Rockstar has played the finished game, though, so nobody can tell you a working code before it launches on November 19, 2026.

Last checked November 4, 2026 against Rockstar Newswire, the official Grand Theft Auto VI page and the June 24, 2026 press release.

Does GTA 6 have cheat codes?

Not that anyone can confirm. Here is where the official record stands on November 4, 2026:

• Rockstar Newswire: the three most recent Grand Theft Auto VI posts are the launch trailer (October 15), the original score (October 29) and the pre-load announcement (November 3). None of them mention cheats.
• Official GTA VI page: lists the November 19, 2026 release date and the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms. Nothing about cheats.
• June 24, 2026 press release: covers pre-orders, editions, pre-loading and platforms. Nothing about cheats.

So the accurate answer is "unknown", not "yes" and not "no". A page claiming Rockstar has confirmed GTA 6 cheats is wrong, and so is a page claiming Rockstar has removed them.

How GTA 5 cheats worked

GTA 5 is the best guide to what Rockstar might do, because it is the most recent mainline game and still on sale. Its cheats work in three ways:

• Button sequences on a PlayStation or Xbox controller, entered during play.
• Phone numbers dialled on the character's in-game phone.
• Typed text on PC, through an on-screen cheat input.

Cheats are a Story Mode feature. They do nothing in GTA Online.

Rockstar's own support article on the subject, "Information about saving and achievements while using GTA V cheat codes", says you can still save while cheats are enabled, but achievements and trophies are temporarily disabled while a cheat is active. Entering the same code again usually turns that cheat off.

That trade-off is the useful part for GTA 6 planning. If Rockstar keeps the same rules, cheats would cost you trophy progress while they are on, not your save file. That is an expectation based on GTA 5, not a confirmed GTA 6 rule.

We have left out a GTA 5 code table on purpose. Rockstar does not publish a full official list of GTA 5 codes, and copying one from a third-party site would not tell you anything about GTA 6.

Are the viral "GTA 6 cheat codes for PS5" real?

No. Search for GTA 6 cheats and you will find pages with full lists of button combos for PS5 and Xbox, phone numbers and PC words, often for invincibility, weapons, wanted level or spawning a tank or a jet. They look official because they copy the format of GTA 5 codes, and some lists are just GTA 5 codes relabelled.

None of them can be real yet, for three reasons:

1. Nobody has the game. There has been no public demo, beta or review build anyone outside Rockstar can test codes on.
2. Rockstar has published nothing. There is no official cheat list to copy from.
3. There is no PC version. Lists of GTA 6 PC cheats describe a version of the game that has not been announced.

We are not repeating any of these codes here, because printing them would only spread them further.

The bigger risk is not a fake code that does nothing. It is a page that says you need to download a "cheat unlocker", trainer or mod menu, or sign in with your PlayStation, Xbox or Rockstar account to activate codes. Real GTA cheats have never needed a download, a login or a payment. Our guide to fake GTA 6 download scams covers what those files actually install. What to expect and when real codes would be known

Two things can settle the question, and both depend on launch:

• Rockstar says something. Rockstar could mention cheats in a Newswire post, a support article or the game's in-game help. That is the strongest possible source.
• Players find them in the released game. If cheats exist, players will start testing inputs on November 19, 2026, when GTA 6 unlocks on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Codes that several players can reproduce on retail copies are real. Codes that only appear in one video are not.

Pre-loading does not change this. Pre-load starts November 10, 2026, per Rockstar's November 3 Newswire post, but you cannot play before November 19, so you cannot test anything early.

If GTA 6 follows GTA 5, expect cheats for things like health and armour, weapons, wanted level and vehicle spawns, limited to the single-player story. Treat that as a reasonable guess from series history, not a feature list. How we will update this page

This page changes only when there is something confirmed to report. When Rockstar publishes cheat details, or when codes are confirmed working on the released game, we will add them here with the platform, the input method and the date we checked them. Until then the answer stays "not confirmed", and the Last checked date at the top shows when we last looked at Rockstar's channels.

FAQs

Are there cheats in GTA 6?

Rockstar has not said. As of November 4, 2026, no Rockstar Newswire post, official GTA VI page or press release mentions cheat codes. Cheats are a series tradition and GTA 5 has them, so they may return, but that is not confirmed.

Will cheats disable trophies and achievements in GTA 6?

Unknown for GTA 6. In GTA 5, Rockstar Support says achievements and trophies are temporarily disabled while a cheat is active, and you can still save. GTA 6 may work the same way, but Rockstar has not published any rules for it.

Are the viral GTA 6 cheat codes real?

No. Nobody outside Rockstar has played GTA 6, and Rockstar has not released a cheat list, so every code circulating before November 19, 2026 is made up or copied from GTA 5. Never download a tool or enter your account details to "unlock" cheats.

Are there GTA 6 PC cheats or mods?

No. GTA 6 launches only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and Rockstar has not announced a PC version. Any GTA 6 PC cheat, trainer or mod offered for download is fake and may be malware. Our GTA 6 on PC guide tracks what Take-Two has said about a PC release.

When will real GTA 6 cheat codes be known?

At the earliest, on launch day, November 19, 2026, when players can test inputs on the retail game, or sooner only if Rockstar announces them first.
