Sony announces PlayStation Plus games in two waves each month. Essential (free monthly) games are revealed in the last week of the previous month and become available on the first Tuesday. Game Catalog additions for Extra and Premium subscribers are announced around the 13th. Below is the complete list for May 2026.

These games are free for all PlayStation Plus subscribers. Add them to your library before they leave and they are yours to keep as long as you remain subscribed.

What Are the PlayStation Plus Tiers?
PlayStation Plus is available in three tiers, each building on the last:
- Essential includes two to three free games each month, online multiplayer access, and exclusive discounts.
- Extra includes everything in Essential plus access to a catalog of hundreds of PS4 and PS5 games to download and play.
- Premium includes everything in Extra plus access to classic PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP titles via streaming, game trials, and additional cloud streaming hours.
Games in the Catalog marked as Extra + Premium are available to both Extra and Premium subscribers. Games marked Premium are exclusive to the Premium tier.
Which Platforms Can You Play On?
The Platforms column shows which PlayStation consoles each game runs on:
- PS5 means the game is available on PlayStation 5 with full PS5 optimisation.
- PS4 means the game runs on PlayStation 4 and is also backward compatible on PS5.
- PS VR2 means the game requires or supports the PlayStation VR2 headset.
Do You Keep Games When Your Subscription Expires?
Essential monthly games added to your library are yours to keep only while you remain subscribed. If your subscription lapses, you lose access until you resubscribe. Your save data is always kept, so your progress carries over when you return.
Catalog games (Extra and Premium) are only accessible while your subscription is active and cannot be kept permanently.
