A proxy is a middleman between your device and a site. Google Translate can act as one: Google fetches the page on its servers and shows it inside Translate, so a network that blocks the site directly may still let it through.

Ways to use Google Translate as a proxy
1. Google Translate Websites tab
Easiest
Open Google Translate for websites. Paste the full URL of the blocked site and press the arrow. Set the source and target language to the same language if you only want the proxy, not a translation. Google says this feature is not available in every region.
The site then opens inside the Translate frame.
2. Direct translate.goog link
No typing in the tool
After a site loads through Translate, the address often becomes a translate.goog subdomain. Dots in the hostname become hyphens. For https://www.example.com/page:
https://www-example-com.translate.goog/page?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp
The older format still works in some cases:
https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&u=https://example.com

3. Yandex Translate

Use a URL such as https://translate.yandex.com/translate?lang=en-en&url=https://example.com. Availability varies by region, and some networks block Yandex too.
Google retired Web Light in December 2022, so old googleweblight.com proxy links no longer work. Use the blocked websites guide instead.
