Building your village is the core goal of Coin Master, but spending coins at the wrong time means you lose progress to attacks and raids. Here is how to build efficiently and protect what you have earned.
In this article
The Basic Village Loop
Every Coin Master village has a set of structures to upgrade (typically five, though some villages have more). Each upgrade costs coins. Coins come from slot spins, raids and attacks. Completing all structures finishes the village and lets you move to the next one.
The challenge is that your coin stash is always at risk. Other players can attack and steal your coins at any time.
When to Build (and When to Wait)
The most common beginner mistake is hoarding coins without building. The longer you hold a large coin balance, the more attractive a target you become.
Build as soon as you have enough coins for a structure. Do not wait until you can afford the whole village at once. Each upgrade you complete removes that coin risk from the equation.
The exception is building events. Village Master rewards you for building multiple structures in a short window. When this event is active, it is worth delaying one or two upgrades and doing them together to hit more milestones.
Protecting Your Coins Mid-Build
Shields are your main defense. Landing three Shield symbols on the slot machine gives you a shield that blocks the next incoming attack. You can hold up to three shields at once.
Rhino pet adds a passive block chance on top of shields. If you have Rhino at a decent level, he will stop a percentage of attacks even when you have no shields.
If you have a large coin balance and no shields, lower your spin multiplier to x1 until you either build the next structure or earn some shields. High-multiplier sessions generate big coin hauls but also draw attention from other players.
Which Village Should You Be On?
Coin Master does not publish a full list of village costs, but the general pattern is:
- Early villages (1 to 50): Relatively low coin costs. Focus on building quickly and moving on.
- Mid game (50 to 150): Costs increase significantly. This is where events like Village Master become most valuable.
- Late game (150 and beyond): Each village can cost billions of coins to complete. High spin multipliers and consistent raiding become essential here.
If you find yourself stuck at a village for a long time, the fastest solutions are: wait for a Raid Madness event with Foxy active, or complete a high-rarity card set for the spin reward.
Coin Strategies by Stage
Early game (villages 1 to 30)
Build fast. Do not worry too much about shields. The coin costs are low enough that losing a few attacks barely sets you back. Prioritise getting through villages quickly to unlock new card sets and chest tiers.
Mid game (villages 30 to 100)
Coin management matters here. Keep Rhino levelling if you have him. Avoid ending sessions with a large unspent balance. Either build or spend down to a safe level.
Late game (villages 100 and beyond)
Spin multipliers become your primary lever. Spending x10 spins during Raid Madness with Foxy active is how late-game players generate the coin volumes needed for expensive villages. Joining an active trading community also matters. Completing high-rarity card sets at this stage gives you spin rewards that can fund entire villages.
Building Order Within a Village
Coin Master does not require you to build in a specific order. Prioritise whichever structure is cheapest first to reduce your holding balance as fast as possible. Save the most expensive structure for last. You will have had more time to accumulate coins by then.
One More Tip: Do Not Buy Coins
Purchasing coins with real money is almost never worth it. The most efficient coin sources are raids (especially with Foxy), attacks with Tiger, completing card sets and participating in events. Every coin you need is available through gameplay.
