Every AI logo maker lets you design for free. The catch shows up at the download button. Some give you a tiny PNG on a colored background. Some want $65 before you get a transparent file. Some never offer a vector file at all. And a few quietly say in their help docs that the logo is not exclusive to you, so it cannot be registered as a trademark.
This guide compares 10 AI logo makers on the things that matter once the design is done: what you can download for free, whether you get SVG and transparent PNG files, one-time vs subscription pricing, and who owns the result. We have not bought every package. Every price and file format comes from the official pricing page or help center, and we flag the few that are unclear.
Last checked: October 2, 2026. Prices are in US dollars. Logo makers change packages often, and a few show different prices by country.
- Best free: Wix (Wixel) lets you download PNG, transparent PNG and SVG for free, up to 20 logos a month.
- Best one-time price for vector files: Brandmark Basic is $35 once for PNG plus SVG and PDF.
- Best brand kit: Looka Premium is $65 once for SVG, EPS, PDF and transparent PNGs, with unlimited edits later.
- Best free transparent PNG: Adobe Express includes it on the free plan. SVG needs Premium.
- Best for wordmarks: Ideogram is the best AI image tool for getting text right, but it only exports raster images.
- Avoid for business: Microsoft Designer is licensed for personal, non-commercial use only.
Three things to check before you pick a logo maker
- Vector file (SVG, EPS or PDF). A PNG is fine for a profile photo. For signs, shirts, printing and a sharp website header, you want a vector file that scales without blurring.
- Transparent background. Without it, your logo sits in a white or colored box on every photo and colored page.
- Exclusivity and trademark. Most AI logo makers build logos from a shared library of icons and fonts. Canva, Looka, LogoAI and Kittl all say, in their help pages, that you do not get exclusive rights to library elements. If you plan to register a trademark, read the "Can I trademark it?" section below first.

The 10 best AI logo makers
Wix Logo Maker (Wixel)

Screenshot: wix.com
Wix has the most generous free tier we found. Its support page says downloading the logo as a high-quality file is completely free, and that includes SVG and transparent PNG. Logo making now lives in Wixel, Wix's AI design app. The free plan gives 120 credits a month, with a maximum of 30 a day, and up to 20 logos.
Paid Wixel plans add more credits and logos: Basic is $90 a year for 50 logos, Pro $290 for 180, and Max $590 for 440. The product split is confusing, though. The older Wix Logo Maker still exists with its own paid plans, logos made in Wixel do not sync to your Wix website, and old logos did not move over to Wixel.
Rights: Wix says you have the legal right to use your finished logo for your business. Icons and fonts are shared library assets, so the logo is not exclusive.
Who it suits: anyone who wants a free logo with real vector files, and Wix site owners.

Brandmark

Brandmark is the cheapest way to own proper vector files without a subscription. You can generate as many logos as you like with no account. When you find one you like, Basic costs $35 once and gives you PNG plus vector files (SVG and PDF). You can keep editing and re-downloading after you pay.
Designer ($95) adds source files, brand guidelines, a business card and social media designs. Enterprise ($195) adds up to 10 hand-crafted original concepts and the font download.
Rights: Brandmark includes full copyright for commercial and personal use. Its terms do not cover exclusivity. AI-made logos use library icons and fonts, so only the Enterprise hand-made concepts are likely to be one of a kind.
Who it suits: freelancers and small businesses who want vector files for $35 and no monthly bill. For more pay-once tools, see buy once software.

Looka

Screenshot: looka.com
Looka produces some of the most polished AI logos and wraps them in brand assets: business cards, social profiles and email signatures. Designing and editing are free. You pay when you download.
Skip the $20 Basic package. It gives one 1000 x 1000 PNG on a colored background, with no transparency and no vector file. Premium at $65 is the real price. It includes SVG, EPS, PDF and PNG, with transparent, black and white versions, plus unlimited edits after purchase. Brand Kit subscriptions (yearly) add the templates and a website builder.
Rights: Looka says you get full ownership of the logo as a whole, but not of the individual icons or fonts, and elements stay in its library. For a trademark, Looka tells you to talk to an attorney. Only use Looka's own website: a look-alike iPhone app with a similar name is not from Looka.
Who it suits: small businesses that want a logo and matching brand materials in one afternoon.

Canva Logo Maker
- Android
- iPhone and iPad

Screenshot: canva.com
Canva has thousands of logo templates and AI tools to start from a prompt. Its strength is everything after the logo: matching Instagram posts, business cards, flyers and slides, all in the same app.
Free accounts can download PNG, JPG and PDF. A transparent background and SVG export are Pro features, and Pro elements in a free design download with a watermark.
Rights: Canva's help page is unusually clear. Template logos are not exclusive and cannot be registered as trademarks. Library content cannot be used in a trademark, except fonts, simple shapes and lines. If you want something you can register, build it from scratch with shapes and fonts.
Who it suits: people who already design in Canva. If you are thinking of leaving it, see our free Canva alternatives.

Adobe Express Logo Maker
- Android
- iPhone and iPad

Adobe Express is template-based, with Firefly AI to generate ideas and a big library of fonts. Its key advantage over Canva Free: the free plan includes PNG export with a transparent background. You also get JPG, PDF, GIF and PPT exports.
Converting to SVG and saving brand kits are Premium features, at $9.99 a month. You need a free Adobe account.
Rights: the logo page does not address trademarks. Templates and stock assets fall under Adobe's general license terms, so treat the result as non-exclusive.
Who it suits: anyone who needs a free transparent logo for a website, stream overlay or social profile.

Shopify Logo Maker

Screenshot: shopify.com
Hatchful is now called Shopify Logo Maker, and the old Hatchful address redirects there. It is still completely free with no watermark. You pick an industry and style, edit the text and colors, and download a ZIP of PNG files in several layouts, including transparent and social media sizes. The Hatchful mobile app has been discontinued.
There is no SVG or other vector file, so it is best for a new online store or a side project, not for printing signs.
Who it suits: new Shopify and Etsy sellers who need a clean logo today at no cost.

Kittl

Screenshot: kittl.com
Kittl is a real vector editor with AI image and vector generation, best known for typography, badges and merch-style logos. It gives you far more control than the generators above.
The free plan is not usable for a business. Exports are PNG or JPG up to 800px at 72dpi, and Kittl's help page says free use is personal only. Paid plans add SVG and PDF, high-resolution exports up to 10,800px at 300dpi, and a commercial license.
Rights: Kittl's licensing page says logos you build from your own uploads or AI-generated elements can be trademarked. Logos based on Kittl templates and illustrations cannot.
Who it suits: designers and apparel brands who want to tweak every curve.

Ideogram
- iPhone and iPad

Screenshot: ideogram.ai
Ideogram is an AI image generator, not a logo maker, but it is the best tool here at spelling your brand name correctly inside an image. That makes it great for exploring wordmark and lettering concepts.
You get raster images (PNG or JPG), not vectors, and no brand kit. To use a result as a real logo, you will need to trace it into a vector file. Free images are public by default. Private generation needs a paid plan.
Rights: Ideogram's terms say it claims no ownership of what you make. Keep in mind that in the US, purely AI-generated images may not be protected by copyright, which weakens your claim to the design.
Who it suits: founders brainstorming wordmarks before handing the idea to a designer or tracing it themselves.

LogoAI

Screenshot: logoai.com
LogoAI generates a logo and shows it on many mockups, from business cards to storefronts, which helps you judge it in context. Paid downloads include JPG, PNG, PDF and SVG.
Its pricing has changed. The current pricing page shows a $10 trial for 7 days with 200 AI credits, then Pro at $20 a month. Older pages on the same site still describe one-time packages, so check what you are buying at checkout. Free previews may carry a watermark, and unrestricted downloads need a paid plan.
Rights: LogoAI states that commercial use does not guarantee exclusivity or trademark registration.
Who it suits: people who want to see their logo on lots of mockups before deciding.

Tailor Brands

Screenshot: tailorbrands.com
Tailor Brands started as a logo maker and has turned into a business formation service. Its official pricing now lists LLC plans, and each includes 8 logos. You can design for free and download a low-resolution file. High-resolution vector files (EPS, SVG, PNG) and 21 social media sizes need a paid plan.
Tailor Brands says the logo is fully yours with full commercial rights once it is paid in full and downloaded, and you keep those rights after you cancel. Exclusivity is not stated.
Who it suits: US founders setting up an LLC, a website and a logo in one place. If you only need a logo, Brandmark or Looka is cheaper.

Two to skip for a business logo
- Microsoft Designer is free and fun for ideas, but Microsoft's own FAQ says its creations are licensed for personal, non-commercial use. That rules it out for a company logo.
- Zoviz has a decent template library, but its own pages disagree. The FAQ says one-time payment, while the pricing page shows monthly plans. Wait until it settles.
Can you trademark an AI-generated logo?
Usually not as-is. Three things get in the way:
- Shared elements. Most logo makers reuse icons and fonts from a library that thousands of other users can pick. Canva says outright that template logos cannot be registered. LogoAI and Looka say you do not get exclusivity.
- AI-only output. The US Copyright Office has said that images created entirely by AI, without enough human authorship, are not protected by copyright. Trademark law is separate, but a design anyone can recreate is weak.
- Similar logos. An AI may produce something close to an existing mark. Search the USPTO trademark database before you print anything.
If you need a registrable logo, use AI for ideas, then rebuild the final version yourself (in Kittl, Affinity or Figma) or pay a designer. This is general information, not legal advice.
Which AI logo maker should you use?
- Free with vector files: Wix (Wixel).
- Free, no account fuss, PNG is enough: Shopify Logo Maker.
- Free transparent PNG: Adobe Express.
- Pay once for SVG: Brandmark ($35) or Looka Premium ($65).
- Already designing in Canva: Canva, and upgrade to Pro only if you need SVG or transparency.
- Unique, trademark-ready mark: Kittl with your own elements, or a human designer.
Start with Wix (Wixel). It is the only tool here that gives you SVG and transparent PNG files for free. If you want a more polished design and a one-time price, Brandmark at $35 is the best value for vector files, and Looka Premium at $65 adds a full brand kit.

FAQs
What is the best free AI logo maker?
Wix's logo maker (now in Wixel) is the best free option because it lets you download PNG, transparent PNG and SVG files at no cost. Shopify Logo Maker is also free with no watermark, but it only gives PNG files.
Can I download a logo for free without a watermark?
Yes. Wix, Shopify Logo Maker and Adobe Express all give free downloads without a watermark. Canva Free downloads are clean unless you use Pro elements. Looka, Brandmark and LogoAI charge before you get a usable file.
Do I own a logo made with an AI logo maker?
You usually get the right to use it commercially, but not exclusive ownership. Most tools build logos from shared icons and fonts. Canva, Looka and LogoAI say so in their help pages. Read the license before you print or register it.
Can I trademark a logo made with AI?
Often not. Template logos from Canva cannot be registered, and pure AI images may not be protected by US copyright. Build the final version from your own elements or work with a designer, and search the USPTO database first.
Which AI logo makers give SVG files?
Wix gives SVG for free. Brandmark includes SVG from $35, Looka from $65 (Premium), and Canva, Adobe Express, Kittl, LogoAI and Tailor Brands on paid plans. Shopify Logo Maker and Ideogram do not offer SVG.
What happened to Hatchful?
Shopify renamed Hatchful to Shopify Logo Maker. The old address redirects to the new tool, which is still free and gives PNG files only. The Hatchful mobile app was discontinued.
